AMDEA committees

AMDEA has two main committees: Commercial and Technical, which are supported by a range of Panels.

The Commercial Committee meets three times a year and is concerned with the overview of consumer legislation, competition issues, press reports, energy labelling and ecodesign. The Technical Committee meets twice a year and focuses on all technical aspects – standards and legislation – performance, safety, EMC, smart appliances and environmental impact.

The Small Appliances Panel and the Spares and Service Panel are two that meet regularly to consider industry-wide topics. The various product-specific Panels meet to discuss issues specific to their products and there are other Panels which meet for a particular purpose such as to agree a consultation response or to meet Government officials to raise industry concerns. mes a year.  There are also a number of panels that meet on an ad hoc basis and act as distribution lists.
