AMDEA’s Annual Prize Draw Season runs from the beginning of November up to and including Register My Appliance Day, which this year fell on 16 January.

The Government Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) again set up a stand. They invited AMDEA to go along to chat to people about registration and were very active on social media.

It looks as if we got a lot of coverage on social media on the day so we are just waiting to see how many more people registered.

Our latest YouGov research showed that over half of fridge-freezers are still not registered, mostly because people didn’t think it was necessary.

Perhaps the most encouraging finding was that 63% of people already know where to find the serial and batch number and 64% would be more likely to register now that they understand the reason.

And when asked to rate their most important material possessions they cited large white goods in third place (after their phone and their car), though for women it was the washing machine that came next, whereas for men it was the fridge.
