Four phthalates are now expected to be formally classified as endocrine-disrupting chemicals under the EU’s REACH Regulation. The Danish Environmental Agency, which has been at the forefront of efforts to restrict phthalates, still wants them to be banned in a wider range of consumer goods.
For AMDEA this is of course not that significant as these four phthalates are already listed in Annex XIV as Substances of Very High Concern and will be banned from all electrical and electronic equipment on the EU market from 2019 under the Directive on the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment (RoHS)
