At the end of last year’s sell-out event (actually it was free, but we did have to turn people away) looking at recent recalls we have known, members asked for a follow-up workshop on risk assessment.
We ran this earlier in the year as a half-day session following a morning Briefing event with speakers from the Office for Product Safety and Standards.
Next in the series was last month’s session on planning ahead, with specific reference to the BSI’s new PAS 7100:2018 Code of practice on consumer product safety related recalls and other corrective actions.
Our guest speaker this time was from Hertfordshire Trading Standards – BEIS have been offering PAS 7100 training sessions to Trading Standards over the summer and we were interested to see how the recipients see the PAS in use.
AMDEA already has its own guidance for members (based on the Prosafe advice), and we are now reviewing those sections that are duplicated by the PAS and assessing any specific needs for our sector.
