The UK’s Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has launched a new campaign to raise awareness of cartels. These are seen as particularly invidious forms of anti-competitive behaviour because they are usually secret and can occur at any level of the supply chain so their impact on other businesses as well as consumers can be far-reaching.
The CMA is concerned that many people are unsure of what a cartel is so may not recognise their activities. AMDEA expects all our members to be au fait with their obligations under competition law and we have our own set of Association Activity Guidelines.
But if anyone wants to reassure themselves, or just for fun, the CMA has a new quiz, which can be found here.
