In the summer of 2014, there will be new Swiss legislation to implement the latest Ecodesign and Energy Labelling Regulations. This is currently understood to include certain transitional phases for vacuum cleaners; coffee machines; and ovens, hoods and hobs; with deadlines in 2015 and beyond.

The new tumble dryer label was introduced in Switzerland at the start of 2014 but they are allowing the old label to be used until the end of 2015. They are also taking a relaxed view of the timetable for the final revision to the Energy Efficiency Index.

Companies exporting to Switzerland are advised to check on the final version of the legislation once it is published. The Federal Department of the Environment, Transport, Energy and Communications website has more information, though not necessarily in English.
